1978 – Federal Government IND Compassionate Use Program Supplies Patients with Marijuana

In 1978, as part of a lawsuit settlement by the Department of Health and Human Services, NIDA began supplying cannabis to patients whose physicians applied for and received such an USID from the FDA.”
